About

In 2008, Another Anime Convention launched a second event called A Summer Matsuri. Named after a general term for a Japanese festival, a Summer Matsuri was a one-day mini-convention. A Summer Matsuri drew in some 140 attendees in 2008, many of whom wondered when AAC would do it again. After a year of absence, the Summer Matsuri returned in 2010, with a more fitting venue and more programming choices.

This year, the Summer Matsuri comes back for a third time, returning again to the Highlander Inn Conference Center.

As a full-fledged "mini-con," a Summer Matsuri will offer most of the amenities of the traditional anime convention. More information regarding these events can be found below and on the Events page.

F.A.Q.

Will there be any artists or dealers?

We will have a vendors' room, as well as an artists' area. Due to limited space, artist and vendor spaces will be on an invite-only basis. A full list of artists and dealers will be posted once we have confirmed all of our artist tables.

Will there be panels? Can I host one?

In addition to a Main Events room, there will be two panel/workshop rooms at Summer Matsuri 2011. If you have experience running panels at other conventions, we would love to consider your panel. Please contact info@summermatsuri.com for more information.

Will there be food or snacks available?

There are no food or drink machines in the Conference Center itself, however there are drink, snack, and sandwich machines located in the Highlander Inn; there is also an outdoor soda machine located immediately across from the Conference Center.

In addition, the Highlander Inn is located within a five-minute drive of from the Mall of New Hampshire and just about any type of restaurant one could want.
